Daddy and the Vantastics

Dear Henry,

Friday was a long day for you. You were in your car seat most of the day but you smiled and cooed anyway because you're sweet and of good nature. You, Daddy and Mommy made the three hour trek to Evansville for Daddy's vocational rehab
driving evaluation. This is the first of many steps toward getting a new van. It was actually a pretty fun drive as there are tons of little Indiana towns between Bloomington and Evansville. We got there and they measured Daddy's chair and asked him some questions and they decided they didn't need to see his driving skills and we started the return trip.

On the way back we stopped in one small town with a pretty town square with lots of little shops. We went into a Latin American grocery store and bought up all the pops Mommy loves from Mexico, some Krankies for Auntie Kristin (which are essentially frosted flakes covered in chocolate) and some plantain chips. Daddy,
always on the search for homemade fudge on our small trips, had me step into the candy shoppe. Back into the van until your parents become so hungry we are on the verge of hangry so we stopped at an Amish Buffet Restaurant that overlooks a HUGE lake in the middle of nowhere. It was super cool! Many of the people in the restaurant were from the local Mennonite and Amish communities and they gave you lots of sweet looks and Mommy compared your age with their children's'. You really played it up for them with big smiles and babbling.

After dinner we took you down to the lake for a look and you smiled up at the sun shinnin' warm on your face and started to fall asleep in Daddy's arms.

It was pretty watching the sun dip but we wanted to get home before dark and made our way on home.

Love, Mommy
