Buuuuuuurrrlizzard of 2012

Dear Hen,
Wow!  Just after Christmas our area of the Midwest was waiting on a blizzard!  It was a one day event so I think I'd more refer to it as a big snow but no matter, we suited up and headed outside to roll, throw, fall, binocular spy and build in the snow.  The great part is the temperature wasn't as frosty as all that snow would have one think.  We were comfortable building our snow person.  I have so much fun with you, my boy.  You're silly.  You stopped in the middle of putting eyes on our snowman to tell me that you had to pee, with a grin.
I asked if you wanted to pee in the snow, and you did, but needed help getting your snowsuit open and stuff.  I gave you a little hand and turned around.  You were quite proud of the bright lemon snow you created.

You are crazy accurate!

Then later you were laying on your belly licking the snow you stopped, looked startled up at me and said, "Hey, this isn't where I peed is it?"
I said, "No! It was over there, but that is still gross!"  You shrugged and sighed with relief and before returning to licking said, "Don't eat the yellow snow."  ...and with that my love grew a little more.  I guess you come by your grossness honestly.

You're No Buddy Until You've Got A Snow Buddy

Dear Henny,
Yeah for snow and time with Sylvie!  You guys made the best snow angels I've ever witnessed.  You had a decent little snow fight and mutually decided it is so cold, we need to go in.  Can't get better than this.

Playin' in the Cold

Dear Snow Bird,
You start seein' that flaky cold stuff fall and we couldn't chain the doors, twist on double bolt locks and put furniture in front of the doors to keep you out.  Nothing would work, you love it.  We have had one day where enough snow dropped to really go out and play in it, but baby they say it is coming now.  No more early-spring like days for a while.  I hope it snows enough that Daddy can pull you around the driveway on the sled, I can try out the snow blower, and we can build a snow man.  Here are some pictures of our one snowy day.  You wanted to help clear off my car window with the new window scrapper Grandma P bought me for Christmas.  We threw a couple of snow balls and you kept eating it off the ground.  I had to get you to stop!  so gross!  It wasn't deep enough to put a protective barrier between you and the gross things on the ground.  Ewe!

Warming Up to the Idea of Cold

Dear Peep A Boo Street,
The snow is quickly becoming your friend.  Small doses outside each day and the boots Auntie Kripsie found you for Christmas has made you a regular snow buster.  Yesterday I pulled you around in the sled again and you actually pointed at the flakes falling, caught them on your tongue, and laughed when it creeped up around you on the sled.
So yesterday evening when Brook e-mailed me for us to meet them at the best sledding spot ever we took her up on it.  When you heard Lily would be there it was on.  We bundled up, you even wore mittens and didn't take them off!  We took one big swoosh down the hill then just laughed at you and Lily in your over bundled looks.  Too cute!  I can't wait until you get bigger and we can really bust it up and down that hill!  So MUCH FUN!
