Spending 1 at Home

Dear Henry,
For your actual birthday, March 9th we spent the night at home together, just the three of us.  Mommy picked up an ice cream cake and made spaghetti for dinner.  You LOVED eating the spaghetti and decided you also wanted to wear it.  Since we brought you home we've called you Peep. The story behind it is during those first three months when Mommy cuddled you close you would peck at my chest like a little chicken.  I would get you a bottle and sometimes you would still peck at my chest like a little chick going for food; as a result we started calling you Peep Peep.  After your birthday dinner we gave you your first marshmallow Peeps.
You were fascinated by their texture, grew tired of it an spit out a sticky goobered up mess into my hand.  Then we lit the candles on your cake and turned off all of the lights.  Daddy held you snug on his lap while we sang happy birthday.  Daddy helped you blow out the candles, which you had your eyes glued too.  For this cake I just had the lady squirt a ton of icing on top a la the first cake Daddy purchased for Mommy the day after we started being boyfriend and girlfriend.
Sweet!  You loved the ice cream in the cake and got a little wild after all that sugar.  We gave you a bath to get all of the spaghetti and icing off of you.  Daddy played music for you and this made you squeal and smile.  We slipped on your jammies and settled in the living room.
You started looking REALLY sleepy until we brought out the presents we bought for you.  We had picked out some really great books for you such as Farley Farts and a card board book teaching you several of the basic Star Wars ships.  We also bought you a drum, tambourine and maracas set.  These have been well worth it already as it is the toy of choice multiple times a day.  Then there was Daddy's gift...a Taun Taun sleeping bag.  It started out being an internet April Fools joke but it turned out the interest was so big they started manufacturing it.  Daddy had to jump and get you one!  He is going to post more about that later so I'll save the details for him...
After we said our good nights I put you down to bed.  You cuddled up with your sock monkey and went right to sleep with your pruney thumb stuck in your mouth.
ONE YEAR!  Unbelievable!  Wonderful!
Love, Mommy

I couldn't help bursting out laughing when I saw the box with "tauntaun sleeping bag" on the side!

Instructions: Take one Taun Taun and one Light Saber. Slit open Taun Taun with Light Saber. Slip your freezing tush inside steaming, smelly belly.

Thanks for the laugh!
