I'm Talkin' About My Best Friend

Dear Henry,
Last weekend we went to our first Saturday's farmer's market for the season.  A beautiful day!  It also happened to be Record Store Day so we were out ALL day long.  While at the market we met your local aunties, Krispie (Daddy's sister) and Carrie, and others.  One of Krispie's friend's walked up, Chris, with another friend and pointed at you and said, "Hey! You know who this is?  This is Devlyn's best friend!"  It made me smile so big! My boy has a best friend!  Truth is right now Devo is about as close to a best friend that you're going to get.  Devo is a sweet boy with a good
sense of personal style, a glowing complexion, sparse blonde hair, a hearty raspy laugh and a quirky little up turn at the corners of his mouth.  You will circle each other drawing your circles closer and closer the longer you spend time together.  If it gets late because the Mommies and Daddies are yip yappin' too much you guys start running into each other. I imagine eventually you'll interact and maybe even talk to each other a little.
A couple of weeks ago after playing on the play ground we pulled you both in your wagon to the Chocolate Moose so you and Devo could experience your first torch cones (complete with eyes) together.  Devo was not so fond but you ate your cone like an old pro, despite a momentary brain freeze.

We've been getting together with Mike, Megan and Devo about once a week for the last couple of months.  It is a great developing friendship.  We laugh a lot, eat and go to the playgrounds.  We dream of our boys starting a cool band someday.  I joke that you'll both be Alex P. Keatons, okay that reference dates Mommy but it is the best comparison I can think of... the Keatons were sitcom hippies and hoped to raise their son to be thoughtful of others and the earth...instead Alex was uber conservative and all about money...we are all DIY, socially aware music lovers thus perhaps our boys will be yelling at us to turn it down and striving to be one of the crowd.  We will still love you of course..and I don't think I have anything to worry about as you already show signs that you love music and you most certainly do your own thing.
Mommy and Daddy talk about how awesome it is to make some cool new friends that have a boy almost your exact age to play with.  We look forward to many more days in the playground  together.
Love, Mommy

Beautiful times--so fun--enjoy as you are. AMW As I type one handed standing with a little girl blowing spit in my face! Emi tries to make friends with EVERYONE at the baseball field/park--especially those her size--they are too sweet at this age--too sweet.

I'm going to have to take Devlyn home with me! He's too cute in that hat. Great sense of style indeed.

He and Henry must have made a cute pair toddling through the crowds.
