Gross!
Dear Hazelita, sweet cupcake, You just took your shoes off, pulled your pudgy foot up to your nose with the little heart shaped nostrils, smelled
it and jerked back in a revolted scrunched face protest of their stink. Then, you decided to suck your big toe a minute. How can kids be so GROSSSSSS but also super
cute at the same time? Yet, somehow I love you more, but EWE! Good thing you are now getting all of the wipe out of the package so you can wipe your face off, evenly space them on the fire place and toss them all around the room. It is helping the smell some.

Crazy day at school.
Dear Henry, Today is crazy day at school. You are so excited and here are the choices you made. You ran around collecting things for your crazy look, including darting out to the car to get some chain you stashed away for your scorpion necklace. You have yellow and white make up around your eyes (disappointed that I didn't have giant eyelashes to put on your lids), snake tats with flowers on your arms and two bracelets. You are really excited about crazy day! As you spoke about your friends in class you were amping up thinking about the things they may have done...and yet when I dropped you off at school a couple of hours ago you were the only one in the class who had done ANYTHING, besides one of the teachers who had put her hair in pig tails. You didn't seem to mind but had a little bit of a shocked look. It makes sense. Yesterday you were the only one to not wear PJ's to school ("Pajamas are for bed not for school"). You don't even go to school on Wednesday normally but you wanted to be there for crazy day. I'm glad you're the kind of kid that wasn't/isn't normally swayed by the fact that everyone was or wasn't, but were happy with you doing you. A solid lesson and reality to carry through life. I know I had so much fun getting you ready today and taking a few pictures of you. The poses were also your doing.

Birthday Cake, Family and Playing
Dear Henny and Hazelita,
A couple of weekends ago we had a special invite to Josiah's birthday, remember he is Henry's half birth bro. JoJo has been settled in her new house for a little bit and it was the perfect time for a visit and some cake. For Josiah's present we got a little basket to keep all the different types of balls he asked for contained, a ball with suction cups all over it, another ball that lights up, bath tub color fizzies, a pair of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle socks, and a megaphone to talk to himself with...but the most special gift was that you made him some homemade play dough. We arrived to a gaggle of kids waiting to say hello and JoJo running out of the house, whom I embraced and we got teary eyed together.
It had been a few months since we had last seen them. Hazel played with Jo, trying to share her snacks but really working her way into Jdad's G's heart...by the time we left she had him holding balloons for him and blew him kisses.
Jmom was there, too.
I think she was excited to have us all there. So glad to get to visit with her and watch you play outside with the kids, including your two older half birth siblings and a birth cousin cutie. We had cake and some ice cream and enjoyed giggling over Jo getting cake ALL OVER.
I am so glad we were able to go and share in Jo's big day! You both had a sensational time!
So grateful for good friendship and family. Love, Mama

Lake Griffy Fun
Dear Henry,
A great weekend getting to go with Bahboo and his boat to the reservoir around the corner from our house. Mama made sure we had plenty of snacks including PB&J's, beef sticks, BBQ chips, fruity snacks and waters. We stuffed our face and watched turtles, geese, and fish. You looked cool in your Star Wars hat and when asked if you were having fun you replied with a, "Duh!" Or a "Boy am I ever!" So we ended our time at Griffy catching tadpoles, just to cinch up that a good time was had. I love spending time with you and Bahboo. We have a lot more time for such adventures together.

Mother's Day #6
Dear Babies,
I really loved spending some fun time with you this Mother's Day. Daddy asked what I might light to do and I decided a picnic to Spring Mill was exactly what I needed to do! It was a beautiful day. We bought chicken and root beer and stuffed ourselves at the park then went over to the pioneer village. It was hot for May! We were sweating, but Henry, you decided you MUST WEAR YOUR IRON MAN COSTUME!!! Three exclamation points barely covers your determination to get your way this weekend, but we really couldn't see why you couldn't be Iron Man in the 1870's. The mill runs every hour on the hour and you were very motivated to see it.
The three floors of old artifacts were exciting to look at and Mama's history teacher leanings were even more excited to share details and answer questions. After the mill the old houses seemed to pale in comparison to the colony of willy worms that have taken up residence in the grass and plants in the settlement.
You were very involved in covering yourself with as many as possible, offering a view to any passerby that showed interest. Hazel sat next to Daddy until she figured out she could go in and out of the buildings a look around. You showed a lot of strength going up and down the old stairs.
We all were fascinated by watching the blacksmith pump up the heat on some iron work he was molding into a fireplace poker. We all talked his ear off while he hammered away. The heat got to us about the time we were ready to leave so we sat down and had a slushy.
A perfect way to end our fun and active afternoon together, until we saw the crazy tree hole. We stopped the van and you and Hazel jumped in faster than I could help you. Henry, you are calling it the pancake tree because you claim it smells heavily like maple syrup.
I loved it and wished we could transplant the thing in our back yard.
Thanks for the attention little skittles. I love you both so much, and that hunky Dad of yours, too.

After 26 years my pals in Chicago's Lynyrd's Innards are calling it quits tomorrow night. In 1993 I put out their record (my first release, their 2nd), and continued off and on over the next 11 years of putting out records. Our friendship/relationship epitomized the best of the spirit of diy/punk and I love you guys! #lynyrdsinnards #beebahewba #thefirst26yearsseemedlikeaweek
