Little Mister

Dear Peep,
You love taking a bath.  You love it even more now that you have your own "shaver" and shaving cream.  We found this fun little product.  You followed directions as Daddy taught you how to shave.  You were pretty serious about it, then started "shaving" your entire body.  So cute!

Tech-knowledge

Dear Peep,
At our weekly library visits you've been very interested in trying to work the computers for some time.  You have had a hard time listening to instructions on how to use a mouse or how to work a game, until now!  I figured out that there is a giant bookshelf with hundreds of computer games just waiting to be played.  I chose a Caillou game and Curious George game for phonics and the alphabet.  You listened intently as I explained the roller ball mouse, how to click and helped you understand a couple of words on the screen.
YOU DID GREAT! and clearly felt proud of yourself.  You enjoyed the games and experiencing success, and learned a few things. I love that!  You spent about 20 minutes and then HAD to show Daddy what you know about using a computer.  He came in to give you lots of praise and cheers.  It is awesome to see you learning.

A Bow Wow Ruff Ruff Birthday Party

Dear Henny,
After buying a gift and present bag you were all set for our friend Ruby's 6th birthday party.  This was perfect despite the rainy day.  You were so proud of your present, you insisted on carrying it in yourself; a Headbandz game and googled eyed, puffy fruit stickers.  You also insisted on carrying it to Ruby and even after setting it on the present table you retrieved it a few more times to take it to her.  Her party was a dog theme complete with a dog ear making table, bone shaped cookie decorating table, face painting and dog bowls of snack goodies.  You walked around like a big boy with the older kids and especially enjoyed playing super hero with Daddy (the bad guy) in an empty room full of soft balls flying around.  When it came to present opening you had to keep trying to edge your doggie bag into Ruby's lap.  You had a great time!
You're ready for another party.  I can't wait to take you to many more as you gather up friends.

Hoppy Easter

Dear Peep,
We had a low key Easter at home together, just the three of us.  I spent a little time in the yard moving some rocks left over from our pool removal.  While I was working you'd flit in and out of the house between me and Daddy.  Then I found at toad!  I peeked into the house and said, "HENRY!!! I found a toad!"   I retrieved your little creature keeper and we put it in there.  You said, "Oh mommy! I am so grateful you found a toad!"  We let you play with torture it for a while.  For the most part you were gentle and oh so full of enthusiasm for you little toad.  You wore it around your neck for a pit, inspecting it frequently.  I went back to work and asked you not to take it in the house, which you promptly did.  Minutes later you sprung out the back door exclaiming, "The toad got away! It is under the couch!"  With a quick re-catch I guided you outside.  You asked me to get a picture of you and your bumpy buddy.
Can you find him on your head
We allowed you to play with him a while longer, then saddened you by letting you know it was time to release him back to his toady world.  You decided to place him in your little garden amongst the carrots.
20 minutes later you went back to check on him and he had hopped back to toady world.  May we catch many more animals to explore together.

Rails to Trails

Dear Peep,
We had a calming Sunday last week making our way across the B-Line trail in town.  The B-Line is an old train track turned into a paved walking, biking, jogging, running trail.  It is super clean, well lit and a lot of fun last week with you.  We enjoyed meeting up halfway with your Aunties.  You even rode on Krispie's handle bars for a short distance.  We are grateful to get to spend time with family and to enjoy a nice day.  It was enough entertainment for you, on the way back you snuggled up next to Daddy and fell asleep with nearly a kerplunk.  Krispie and Currie are waiting a new niece any day now!  Perhaps you can make a new friend when she makes her appearance.

The Force is Strong with this One

Dear Peep Skywalker,
Mama's cousin Ricky wasn't able to make it to your party but he dropped off a light saber and super hero decals to Grandma P and Bahboo's.  I had to give this birthday present honorable mention.  Why?  It is the first thing you ask for when you wake up, you tell strangers in line at stores that you have a "real, working light saber at home", you challenge Daddy to duels and we can use this thing as leverage when you decide to act up!

Your first night with your Jedi light saber you took it to bed with you.  After Daddy and I were ready for bed I came to check on you and found you sleeping outside of our bedroom door with it nestled beside you.  When I picked you up to put you back into your bed your sleeping arm clutched tighter to insure it traveled with you.  We've also been able to correct obstinate behavior by using phrases such as, "Jedi's are all about patience Henry." or "Jedi's are calm and in control of themselves Henry."  Paired with the ship Uncle Gary got you full fledged Star Wars mania is taking hold.
We love seeing your imagination busting out.  Nothing makes us all geeky more than hearing you playing by yourself telling stories.
Love, Mama

*Thanks cousin Ricky for being so thoughtful, sorry you and the kids couldn't make it to the party but we appreciate you thinking of our boy on his big #3.
