Dear Mommy and Daddy,
This is Henry. I am turning 10 at 10 o'clock, I think. This is my first post. I am really excited to turn 10, mostly for the presents, but also because I'm 10 and I've been alive for 10 years!
Mommy, you asked me to write my first blog. You gave me some questions to help me.
Who is one of your best friends? Describe three things you like about them.
One of my best friends is E. He is funny, kind, smart, and caring. One example of him being funny is like the time yesterday, when we were having a party-ish thing and we were playing a game where you were supposed to build a wall out of pillows. The other two people were trying to knock it down but E had a brilliant idea of just hiding in the workroom instead of building a wall. Then A and C came down from the stairs to break the wall we were supposed to have built, but since we didn't, they were all confused and surprised. They started yelling our names because they didn't know where we were. We were back in the dark workroom listening to them, laughing. Our laughing gave it away. It was a good joke.
What is one of your oldest memories?
One of my oldest memories, I don't know how old I was, maybe one? two? We went to Bahboo's and Grandma P's house. I thought they were random people who were taking caring of me and I was wondering why they were loving me so much. I thought, "Yes! Keep giving me cookies, please!" I just didn't understand our connection to them. I don't remember when I put our connection together but now I'd like to be with them more often because I don't get to see them as often as I'd like because they're kind and they're fun to be around (whispers:and they give me candy and stuff).
Tell me a story of when you were afraid?
We took a weekend trip to Louisville. It was in October and we visited a pumpkin patch. Now, when I say pumpkin patch I mean there were pumpkins taller than me and hundreds and hundreds of pumpkins all over the place, everywhere. Turn left, there is a pumpkin. Turn right, there is a pumpkin. Look up, pumpkin. I look down and I nearly stepped on a pumpkin. Pumpkins were every five steps and even in the trees. It was night and super dark. All of these pumpkins were lit up and had faces carved into them, aka jack-o-lanterns. Some were very realist and creepy, while others were basic jack-o-lanterns. They lined a long path through the woods. We were walking having a great time, looking at the pumpkins. We were almost at the end of the pumpkin thing and I saw a really cool pumpkin. I pointed it out to Hazel, she didn't respond. I realized Hazel wasn't even with us. We all started freaking out. We told everyone around us. There was an off-duty police officer behind us. He tried to tell as many people and staff as possible. We went to the end of the path. A good 20 minutes had passed and a staff employee walked up to us. She asked us if she had black pig tails? We said yes. She said they found her standing in line waiting for a funnel cake. I felt very relieved knowing Hazel was ok and didn't die by being consumed by a pumpkin.
Here is a picture of me and my birthmom, JoJo. We are hugging. It is really nice to know her. She is kind, funny and my birthmom. We had a birthday dinner together at a Japanese place, which I think I've had 2 or 3 birthdays at. She hadn't tried Japanese food before. She didn't like the sushi. I didn't like it either this time because it wasn't as good as it usually is. The avocado was smooshy, it all was. I like it when it has that crisp bite.
This my plant Barry. I bought him with birth-mis day money. There was a bigger plant with it, Benry, but it died. I like taking care of plants and getting new ones to grow bigger.
This is me and Sock. When I was born you got two sock monkeys. You gave one to JoJo and one to me. This is me with him and the clothing I was supposed to come home with but I took a giant CRAP all over everything! I had to get a stupid, like, off white colored thing from the hospital. It was worn and it sucked.
Here, Sock and I are 5 days old.
I love you mom and dad. Thank you for taking care of me for 10 years.
Love,
Henry

You are so loved and lucky young Henry. Good job writing this post - you have some serious descriptive skills. And I agree, I hate it when the sushi is mushy. Hey, that rhymes! I hope you have a fun birthday and that you keep writing. It's a great way to make the world a better place.
Just wanted you to know you are our favorite and smartest Grandson!! Happy 10th Birthday!
Henron! We just read your first post and it is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaantaaaaastic! You are really cool! I have loved telling jokes and riddles with you! Example: What kind of keys never unlock anything? (more later) I love making up games with you in the hot tub and pool. Especially the question and delivery game. I love how much you love chicken wings, helping when asked and collecting all those little things in your room, especially those silver boxes we find at garage sales. At age ten you are a kinder, caring, loving guy. We are so proud of you and could not love you more. We sure are looking forward to the next ten! Oh yea. Turkeys, donkeys and monkeys: Love you always Baboo
Hello Henry, Happy Birthday and thanks for 10 years of joy, laughs and pure joy, that you have brought to us, being our grandson. Bahboo and I, helped your mom and dad to bring you home from the hospital. I took pictures. You were only home for a few hours and Mommy and I were holding you and watched you completely turn over. It was the coolest thing ever. We thought you were going to be a muscle baby. Ten years certainly passed quickly. We love you so much. We share so many memories and are looking forward to many more. Grandma P
